Zhuzha

The Fund received a message about a dog that had been picked up, but the next day she was released back onto the streets. It took some time to find Zhuzha in the surrounding area. She was discovered a day later, curled up on the steps of a shopping center, clearly terrified as her world had collapsed. At first, the volunteers thought that Zhuzha had been hit by a car and took her to the clinic, but it turned out she was physically healthy, just extremely scared and exhausted. In the clinic, she slept for three days, realizing that she was safe there. A big animal, yet scared of everything, like a kitten. She must have been a home dog once, as she carried the scent of home. For some unknown reason, she found herself on the streets: perhaps she got lost, or maybe she was heartlessly thrown out. Zhuzha is now safe, but no shelter can replace the warm and cozy home she truly needs.

Vulnerable like a flower

Zhuzha has found it difficult to accept her current circumstances. Despite appearing to be a large dog, she is afraid of everything, like a child, especially of unfamiliar people. She needs someone who will give her time to adjust, someone she can gradually love and accept as "hers." Zhuzha is a very gentle girl; she shouldn't be forced into any actions, as it can frighten her and lead her to hide in a corner in genuine panic. It can be quite challenging even to clean her ears. Zhuzha does not like the leash and collar and is afraid of touches around her neck, possibly due to some bad childhood memories. In other ways, she plays and runs around just like any normal dog. She loves attention and affection, reciprocating warmly and adoring everyone she has come to trust. She only bonds with her chosen people, but it might just be a miracle that she finds someone she will fall in love with at first sight. It’s important to remember that Zhuzha is very sensitive; she is a big child who has lost her way.
